Gemini Moon is extremely common. It does not mean your Sun is Gemini.
If the app is Vedic and you compare to birthday Leo, check Surya’s Rashi specifically. Vedic Surya for early-August births is usually Karka (Cancer), not Mithuna (Gemini).
Born 16–22 July? Western says Cancer; sidereal Surya may sit in Mithuna (Gemini). You might identify as “Leo season” culturally while astronomically still in Cancer/Gemini territory.

Is Western astrology wrong?
No — it uses a different reference frame (tropical). Wrong only when you mix tropical labels with Vedic predictions in one session.
Is Vedic more “real”?
For Jyotish (dashas, nakshatras, muhurta, Kundli Milan), sidereal is the standard. For Western psychological astrology, tropical is the standard. Pick a tradition; don’t mash them.
Why ~24 degrees?
Earth’s axis precesses over ~26,000 years. The equinox drifts against the star background. Ayanamsha is the correction; Lahiri is the Indian standard we use.
